50% of our profits help fill up the NZ Super Fund

We provide nearly 1/3 of New Zealand’s fuel

We are 50% owned by Infratil and 50% owned by the New Zealand Superannuation Fund

Z customers helped add $18 million to the NZ Super Fund last year

(Total dividend payments from 1 April 2011 - 31 March 2012)

The New Zealand Superannuation Fund was set up by the government to help meet the future cost of superannuation payments to Kiwis. There are lots of reasons why it exists and how the fund works online, or you can simply let the Kiwi Kids explain a bit more about it.

GlenandVanessa Hopgood Shell NZ was put on the market 3 years ago and was brought by the NZ Super Fund and Infratil that was when it became Z Energy. Those of you who are complaining that you never gave the OK for the money to go into the Super Fund should perhaps chack your facts first, The money thay are talking about is the profit from NZ Super owning the company. Most of the profits came from what is sold in the shop there is very little margin in petrol. If you want to know more perhaps you should read the Annual Reportthey posted on here a couple of days ago http://z.co.nz/annual-review-2012/

Riya Chand Yep I agree with you guys. This company is too big for its boots to even try to care about the community. Like approving the Super A fund with who's permission and who's money. Also backing out of Helensville as a petrol provider. I was always a shell customer. Then z energy. Now we have to resort to another provider. Loyalty runs both ways. But not with z energy. Chevron all the way!

We supply fuel to retail customers at our service stations, and also to large commercial customers like airlines, trucking companies and vehicle fleet operators. We also provide bitumen to roading contractors and manufacture ingredients used in detergents and other household products. From all of this, 50% of our profits help fill up the NZ Super Fund. It’s just one of the reasons why we say Z is for New Zealand.
