• What is Fly Buys Pumped?

  • What is this? How does it work?

    Fly Buys Pumped is a new reward program that gives you fuel discounts every time you visit Z and swipe your Fly Buys card. Plus, you’ll still get your Fly Buys points (1 point for every 20L of fuel purchased). You can also load your Fly Buys card onto Z App to save even more time. Just scan your Z App when you pay and you'll be away laughing.

  • What are Pumped Days?

    Pumped Days allow you to earn special fuel discounts during an exclusive, 24-hour period. We'll update our website whenever a Pumped Day is coming up, so you'll have a bit of warning. We'll also send out notifications using Z App. You can download Z App here.

  • Why are things changing?

    At Z, we're always looking for new ways to reward Z customers. When our contract with Countdown came to an end, we decided to try something new and exciting. Instead of making you stuff your wallet with supermarket dockets, we've made it easier than ever before to get fuel discounts and earn Fly Buys points.

• How do I get involved?

  • Where do I get a Fly Buys Pumped card?

    Chances are you've already got one - Fly Buys Pumped works off your Fly Buys card, so there's nothing extra to carry in your wallet or purse. Or, if you're digitally minded, why not simply use either the Fly Buys or Z App to store your Fly Buys card in - too easy!
    
    Don't have a Fly Buys card? Don't worry - just head to flybuys.co.nz to sign up and you'll be earning Fly Buys points and be eligible for Fly Buys Pumped offers in no time. 

  • How do I register my Fly Buys card to get Fly Buys Pumped offers?

    You don't need to - every Fly Buys card is eligible for Fly Buys Pumped! However, if you don't want to miss out on knowing about any upcoming Fly Buys Pumped offers, you need to make sure that you've opted in to get emails about Fly Buys Pumped. Sign in to Fly Buys at flybuys.co.nz or give 0800 FLYBUYS a call to double check.

• What if I don't want Fly Buys?

  • I don't want to join Fly Buys - why can't I get offers?

    Sorry to hear that you're not a fan of Fly Buys - we reckon that it's awesome. The reason we've chosen Fly Buys to run our fuel offers through is because heaps of Kiwis are already members. If Fly Buys isn't for you though, perhaps you can try our mobile app, Z App, as we often run promotions through that too.

  • I've been a loyal customer of Shell/Z for years - why can't you give me an offer without Fly Buys?

    That's awesome to hear that you've been a loyal customer for so long - thank you. We believe in rewarding our customers, which is why we regularly run promotions and offers - through Fly Buys and other things like Z App, instant win cards, Facebook and the like. As a loyal customer hopefully you've been able to take advantage of these so far and of course in the future too.

  • Why don't you just make all petrol cheaper? You're ripping us off

    We'd love to make Petrol cheaper, but we don't control all of the factors that make up how fuel is priced. You can read more about how fuel pricing works at z.co.nz/pricing.

  • You must be overcharging for fuel if you can give these offers away - you charge us too much

    We always try to price our fuel as competitively as we can - check out z.co.nz/pricing to see what goes in to our fuel pricing.

• What happened to supermarket discounts?

  • Why aren't they giving out supermarket docket discounts anymore?

    Our contract to offer supermarket dockets finished at the end of July. We've now swapped over to the Fly Buys Pumped system, which gives you awesome discounts just for using your Fly Buys card.

    You can still use supermarket docket discounts issued in July, so long as they haven't expired yet. All supermarket docket discounts will expire on or before August 31.

  • Will you accept my expired supermarket dockets?

    No, we've never accepted Supermarket Dockets if they have expired.

    After 31 July, we no longer have an agreement with Countdown, and so we only accept their dockets until 31 August. However, we have now got Fly Buys Pumped - a great new program that offers you the opportunity to get awesome deals on fuel.
