Z Energy wants to be famous for customer service. This week they took a major step towards this goal, as well as enabling their people to grow through personal development.
Over 500 Z site staff will this week be presented with their Certificate in Retail. The certificate is a NZQA Level 2 tertiary qualification, enabling Z staff to be recognised for their skills and achievements outside of Z.
Mark Forsyth, Z‟s GM Retail said: “Z is all about its people and therefore the introduction of the NZQA recognised Certificate of Retail is a great step forward in terms of the delivery of service to our customers and enabling our people to grow within our organisation.”
By the end of the year 1500 Z staff members will have gone through this certified programme.
Z designed the course, but worked collaboratively with NZQA to match it to the Authority‟s unit standards; the training course, „Getting Famous‟, now forms part of Z‟s induction training.
“The response from our existing staff to „opt-in‟ to the course has been staggering and applications are still pouring in.
“It is obvious what the benefits of a staff training programme that helps deliver excellent customer service to Z are, but an NZQA recognised retail training certificate is equally important to our staff members as a career enhancing tool that is recognised by other organisations.
“For many of our site staff this will be their first formal qualification,” Mark said.
75 Z site staff members from the Wellington region received their certificates at a special afternoon tea today.
