Mike has 30 years' experience in the global energy industry with his expertise in supply, trading and marketing businesses. In 1983 he joined BP in New Zealand with his early roles being based in sales, marketing, information technology and finance. From 1992 to 2008 he served in various senior leadership roles in South Africa, China, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
Mike is one of the founders and the convenor of the Climate Leaders Coalition, a group of 68 companies representing nearly half of New Zealand’s emissions, and has served as a Director of various private and public companies and joint ventures in Singapore, China and South Africa. He is presently a Director of Loyalty New Zealand Limited and the Chair of Punakaiki Fund Limited.
Lindis has been with Z Energy since 2010 where he's held several different Executive roles including Strategy Manager and overall project lead accountable for the integration of the Chevron New Zealand Business. Prior to becoming CFO Lindis was GM Corporate leading the Strategy team, M&A and Corporate Responsibility and Corporate Communications teams.
Before joining Z Energy, Lindis was with ANZ Bank leading a number of significant property transactions and developments. He also spent 13 years with Shell in New Zealand and Europe in various Retail Operations and Strategy Roles.
Prior to moving to New Zealand in 2019, Figen held senior executive roles at Intel and Microsoft in the USA as well as serving Fortune 100 companies as a McKinsey consultant in Europe and Japan. After driving considerable transformation for Woolworths NZ as their Head of Analytics & Insights, Figen started with Z Energy in 2021.
In addition to customer empathy, Figen brings to this role a unique combination of data, digital product and retail analytics expertise. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from her native Turkey and a Master of Science degree in Artificial Intelligence that she gained in USA where she was the recipient of a Fulbright scholarship. She published her Ph.D. in Machine Learning while studying in Japan, where she was the recipient of a Japanese Government Scholarship. Figen holds multiple patents and has published many articles in the computer and software technology field.
Andy is our General Manager of Retail. Andy has an extensive retail, marketing and sales background, having held several executive roles throughout his 23-year career with BP including Retail General Manager for BP New Zealand where he launched BP Connect and led the development of Wild Bean Café.
Andy has worked for BP Australia, BP USA and BP’s Global Brand Marketing and Innovation team. While working for BP USA Andy developed and led a global team to commercialize new product and market growth strategies, before taking up the role of Snr Vice President of Marketing with BP America.
Prior to joining Z Andy was the Managing Director of Brandxp providing marketing consultancy & customer experience programs for leading retailers throughout Australasia. During this time one of Andy’s key projects was leading the design, development and rollout of the Z brand.
Before moving to New Zealand in 2011 to lead the New Zealand governments Petroleum and Minerals division, Dave held a number of senior roles in the global energy industry. He started a 25 year career with BP as an engineer in Scotland, progressed through oil refining and chemicals manufacturing roles to commodity trading management and ultimately to lead BP’s Alternative Energy business development in Abu Dhabi.
Prior to embarking on his New Zealand adventures, he was Managing Director of the UK’s Oil & Gas industry’s skills and competence development organisation, OPITO.
Debra is our General Counsel and Chief Governance Officer. Before joining Z in 2015, Debra held corporate legal roles with BP, ANZ, and Telecom as well as consulting on the initial establishment of the Financial Markets Authority. Debra worked for Chapman Tripp before moving into the corporate sector.
Mandy is Z’s Chief Digital Officer, responsible for leading the charge towards a digital first and data-driven future, and providing leadership for Z’s Digital function. Mandy has an executive background in financial, operations and technology roles, including as Chief Operating Officer at NZX, and has been a member of faculty at US-based Singularity University since 2016.
Mandy is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors and New Zealand Global Women.
Julian leads Z’s efforts around transition. For the two years prior to this role, Julian was the General Manager of Strategy and Risk at Z. Prior to that, he was General Manager of Health, Safety, Security and Environment for four years, leading a transformation programme to improve operational risk management at Z. Julian has over 20 years’ experience working in senior roles in the public and private sectors in New Zealand business. He has a Master degree from Auckland University and is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors.
Nicola is responsible for Z’s business customer relationships. This includes diesel and petrol sales to New Zealand businesses, as well as all of Z’s sales across the aviation, marine, lubricants and bitumen markets. Nicola has held several roles during her seven-year career at Z including Commercial Aviation and Marine Manager and worked on several special projects, including the acquisition of Chevron NZ, the Fuel Market Study and the development of Pumped, Z’s loyalty and rewards program launched in August 2019. Prior to joining Z Nicola spent nine years at bp in varied roles including Regional Operations Manager based in Perth, Western Australia, responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the company’s seven terminals in the state.
Nicolas leads the Strategy and Risk functions at Z. Nicolas was previously Z’s Strategy Manager, responsible for corporate strategy development and merger & acquisition activity. Before joining Z, Nicolas held corporate finance advisory roles at Macquarie Group and the New Zealand Treasury.
Helen leads our People and Culture team – with over 20 years experience in HR leadership positions across some of New Zealand’s well known listed employers – including The Warehouse, Goodman Fielder and Fonterra. She also has governance experience in these industries and the not-for-profit sector.
Her most recent corporate role was as Regional HR Director for Fonterra.
