21/03/2013 - Z updates
Your chance to have a say on what we should support in your hood is running out! Voting in our Good in the Hood 2013 program will come to an end on 31 March.
Every Z service station is giving $5,000 to neighbourhood groups which help people who need it. That’s over $1 million across the country to do Good in the Hood! Every customer who makes a purchase at one of our service stations during March (including on Z Card, but excluding cigarette only purchases) will be given an orange token to vote for the group they want to support.
You can do even more good in your hood by jumping into our online Token Hunt. Search for the hidden tokens and use them to vote for your favourite group. We’ll give an extra $500 to the ten neighbourhood groups nationwide with the most votes by the end of March. And because one good turn deserves another you might even stumble across some prizes! Find them to win an instant prize and enter the draws for 10,000 Fly Buys points and a $1,000 Z Gift Card.
What’s Good in the Hood?
In November 2012, thousands of neighbourhood groups applied to be part of Good in the Hood through z.co.nz. Good in the Hood is the ultimate in keeping it local. So instead of someone in head office deciding who to support, our people on the ground chose the groups for their service station to support.
To be successful groups had to help people who need it. They also had to be active in the area around the Z station they applied to. Finally, the request had to be for a specific project or to fulfil a specific need. It was a tough decision as there were a lot of worthy applications but we chose to support these groups.
