Z is proud to be a partner in the Z Energy People Awards. These awards were developed by the New Zealand Contractors’ Federation (NZCF), the industry body for the civil construction industry, with the assistance of Z and in association with InfraTrain New Zealand (who develop and promote qualifications and training opportunities for people in the infrastructure contracting industries). They recognise the outstanding achievements of individuals within the civil construction industry.
There are two categories in the awards: the Leader of Tomorrow and Trainee of the Year. We choose to support these awards because backing people is one of our core values, and because we believe that recognising future leaders, and those taking ownership for their development, is a way of supporting a bright future for the civil construction industry.
Nick Bartlett, Commercial Account Manager and Z representative on the judging panel, says it’s all about people: “It’s about Kiwis at work locally in our community.”
Nick says he’s excited about the opportunity to recognise outstanding performance in the contracting sector. He’s also glad that Z is involved: “It’s a great initiative – Z has made a firm commitment to the NZCF and the contracting industry in New Zealand.”
Those who take out each award will walk away with 100 Fly Buys points, a trip to the NZCF conference in Queenstown, a cash prize, time with an industry mentor and a trophy to show everyone they’ve won.
The awards will be part of this year’s NZCF/Civil Contractors’ Federation joint conference, to be held 31 July – 3 August.
