Z is incentivising the purchase of Caltex Lubricants by providing eligible entrants who make a qualifying purchase during the promotional period with the chance to win a rally ride with Hayden Paddon plus a Prezzy card to cover travel expenses, in accordance with the following terms and conditions (“Promotion”).
By entering into the Promotion, you agree to and accept these terms and conditions.
1. The promotion is run by Z Energy Limited of 3 Queens Wharf, Wellington, New Zealand (“Promoter”).
2. The Promotion begins at 1am on 30 June 2025 and ends at 11pm on 27 July 2025 (“Promotional Period”).
3. The Promotion is open to persons who reside in New Zealand and are aged 18 years old or over on the date of making a qualifying purchase, who are not employees (or immediate family members or friends of an employee) of the Promoter or of a participating Z or Caltex station or distributor (“Eligible Entrant”).
PRIZES
4. There will be two prizes. Each prize consists of: 1 x rally ride for 1 person with Hayden Paddon in Tauranga (scheduled for 12 October 2025, subject to change) and 1 x $1500 Prezzy Card for the prize recipient to use to travel to redeem the prize (“Prize”). Each Prize recipient may bring a guest with them to Tauranga, however, only one person may participate in the rally ride with Hayden Paddon. The person who participates in the rally ride with Hayden Paddon must be over 18 years old.
5. Each Prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash.
6. Each Prize recipient and their guest are solely responsible for all associated costs and expenses associated with accepting the Prize including transportation, accommodation, meals and insurance.
HOW TO MAKE A QUALIFYING PURCHASE
7. A “Qualifying Purchase” is a purchase by an Eligible Entrant of any Caltex Havoline or Caltex Delo lubricant during the Promotional Period from any one of the following locations:
(a) a Z service station or a participating Caltex service station (each a “Participating Z Station” or “Participating Caltex Station” as applicable). Any Caltex service station that has in-store signage up relating to this Promotion is a Participating Caltex Station.
(b) a participating Caltex lubricant distributor (each a “Participating Distributor”):
(i) Filter HQ (Northland);
(ii) K & L Distributors Ltd (Auckland, Western BOP & Coromandel, or Waikato & King Country);
(iii) BOP Oil Supplies Ltd (Eastern Bay of Plenty);
(iv) Eastland Oil and Engineering Supplies (East Coast);
(v) Diesel & Turbo Wellington (Lower North Island);
(vi) Heavy Diesel Parts & Services (Canterbury-Nelson & Marlborough);
(vii) Westland Engineering Supplies (West Coast);
(viii) McKeown Group Limited (Otago);
(ix) Invercargill Oil Shop (Southland).
PRIZE RECIPIENT SELECTION
8. First Prize Recipient:
a. One Participating Z Station or Participating Caltex Station will be selected by the Promoter using a random number generator on 27 June 2025 (“Selected Station”).
b. One date during the Promotional Period will be selected by the Promoter using a random number generator on 27 June 2025 (“First Selected Date”).
c. The first Eligible Entrant to make a Qualifying Purchase in-store from the Selected Station on the First Selected Date will be asked by retail staff member at the time of purchase if they would like to receive the Prize. If they accept, and provide their name, email address and phone number to that staff member (so that the Promoter can contact them to arrange Prize logistics), they will be awarded the Prize. If they do not accept, the process will repeat with the next Eligible Entrant to make a Qualifying Purchase in Store from the Selected Station, and so on until the Prize is awarded to someone (“Prize Recipient”).
9. Second Prize Recipient:
a. One Participating Distributor will be selected by the Promoter using a random number generator on 27 June 2025 (“Selected Distributor”).
b. One date during the Promotional Period will be selected by the Promoter using a random number generator on 27 June 2025 (“Second Selected Date”).
c. The first Eligible Entrant to make a Qualifying Purchase in-store from the Selected Distributor on the Second Selected Date will be asked by retail staff member at the time of purchase if they would like to receive the Prize. If they accept, and provide their name, email address and phone number to that staff member (so that the Promoter can contact them to arrange Prize logistics), they will be awarded the Prize. If they do not accept, the process will repeat with the next Eligible Entrant to make a Qualifying Purchase in-store from the Selected Distributor, and so on until the Prize is awarded to someone (“Prize Recipient”).
10. The two Prize Recipients selected in accordance with clauses 8-9 will be contacted by the Promoter or their nominee via the contact details collected by the station or distributor (as applicable). Prize Recipients are responsible for ensuring the contact details that they provide are correct. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter takes no responsibility for any failure to collect or store any recipient’s details accurately due to, without limitation, technical malfunction or human error.
11. If, following selection:
(a) a Prize Recipient declines to accept the Prize; or
(b) the Promoter and/or their nominee is unable to contact the Prize Recipient within 7 days of the purchase, having made reasonable attempts to do so; or
(c) an ineligible customer is identified (for example because the entrant is not over 18 years old),
then the Promoter may deem that person as having forfeit the Prize and the Promoter may select a new Prize Recipient. In that case, the originally selected Prize Recipient is not entitled to any compensation.
12. If a Prize Recipient cannot accept or take part in the Prize for any reason (including if the rally ride event is abandoned, called off, postponed or cancelled for any reason), the Prize will be void and no compensation or alternative prize will be payable. In that case the Prize Recipient and their guest forfeit their entitlement to the Prize and the Promoter will not be liable to any entrant or recipient for any loss or damage incurred as a result.
13. The Promoter’s decision is final on all matters and no correspondence will be entered into.
PROMOTIONS/MEDIA
14. Acceptance of a Prize is deemed consent for the Promoter to use the Prize Recipient and their guest’s details, photos, and videos for promotional and media purposes without compensation, and any copyright will vest in the Promoter.
GENERAL
15. If this Promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, including but not limited to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud, or the cancellation, abandonment, or postponement of the rally ride, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant and/or modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Promotion, as appropriate. The Promoter will not be liable to any entrant or Prize Recipient for any loss or damage incurred as a result.
16. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
17. The Promoter reserves the right to disallow entries in its absolute discretion and without giving reasons.
18. The two rally rides forming part of the Prize can only be used once each.
19. The Promoter does not control entry to the relevant event location and is not responsible for the conditions of entry into any venue or location relating to the Prize.
20. The Prize Recipient must keep their Prize safe. The Promoter will not replace lost or stolen Prizes.
21. This Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by Hayden Paddon who is in no circumstances responsible for this Promotion or the Prize.
22. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter and Z Energy Limited exclude all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity), whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Promotion, including, but not limited to, where attributable to any of the following:
(a) cancellation of the rally ride;
(b) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control);
(c) any theft, unauthorized access or third party interference;
(d) any Qualifying Purchase or Prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected;
(e) any tax liability variation in incurred by a claimant or entrant; or
(f) use of a Prize.
23. These terms and conditions are governed by New Zealand law and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
24. Any personal information collected about individuals as part of the Promotion will be collected, stored and used in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and Z Energy Limited’s privacy policy.
