Our people are not only all unique, we’re also in a bunch of different roles across Z. The common denominator, however, is that we’re all passionate about what we do! We work hard to reach our goals, and we have fun along the way. If our 78% engagement score this year is anything to go by, we reckon our people really love the part they play in making Z a successful, extraordinary place to work.
Let’s be straight up – money is important when you’re making a decision about where to work. At Z we believe in rewarding for extraordinary performance, and this is reflected in our remuneration packages. We also have a range of other perks that focus on other areas of your life that we know are important - including your family, lifestyle and wellness. Our employees think Z’s a great place to work too - in 2015, we were named an Aon Hewitt Best Employer.
We’re really open in the way we work, so we have well-designed offices that makes the most of informal areas like booths, couches, and even an internal café area with Z Espress coffee on tap. We believe in the ability to work flexibly so we have laptops which frees us up to move around, and we even have areas dedicated to our wellbeing. We are extremely passionate about everything we do at Z and this starts with a few key areas that are really important to all of us - HSSE, Sustainability and Community.
We’re big on development here at Z, with a vision that our people’s work environment is more closely experienced as personal growth rather than ‘just work’, including dedicated leadership programmes at all levels across Z. We provide support to help you get after what matters to you, and we’ve been recognised as an Aon Hewitt Top Company for Leaders. When we talk about leadership, we don’t mean, “Are you in a leadership role?” We mean, do you make things happen? Act as one team? Inspire others? If yes, then Z may just be the place for you.
This is our purpose. It guides both our actions and our behaviours, and it reflects our commitment to do the right thing for New Zealand.
A company needs to have values it's prepared to stand by. Our values are the soul of our company and these are the things that make us so very Z!
We believe we can build a better business and a better world.
We believe extraordinary outcomes are fuelled by active participation and dialogue.
We believe learning and growing together delivers unlimited potential.
At Z, we focus on achieving outcomes by setting the appropriate context, rather than trying to control people - we believe in "why" versus "way". In choosing to work for Z there are things you need to know, things you need to do and ways you need to be. Most of all you need to understand why.
